En memoria de Mario García la Unión de problemistas de Ajedrez de Argentina anuncia torneo de composición en su honor.

The Argentinian´s Union of Problemists of Chess announces the tournament of composition MT Mario Guido García.
El ajedrez fue una de las grandes pasiones de Mario. No solo participó en torneos de categoría «mayor» en Salta (Argentina) e integró el equipo provincial en competencias nacionales e internacionales, sino que su mayor contribución al mundo ajedrecístico fue como compositor. A partir de los años 90, comenzó a dedicarse a la composición de problemas y finales artísticos, siendo reconocido a nivel mundial por su talento en este campo. Publicó más de 1.000 composiciones, que aparecieron en revistas y diarios de Argentina, Brasil, Estados Unidos y Europa.
Fue fundador de la Unión de Problemistas «Arnoldo Ellerman», desde donde promovió el arte ajedrecístico, y Director ad honorem de la Escuela de Ajedrez de la Provincia de Salta. También fue columnista de ajedrez del diario El Tribuno bajo el seudónimo de «Alfil Blanco» y formó parte del equipo de editores de la revista internacional EG, encargado de analizar estudios premiados en torneos internacionales.
Su obra ha sido incluida en la prestigiosa base de datos de finales artísticos de Harold van der Heijden, y su legado como Juez Internacional para la composición artística de ajedrez es ampliamente reconocido.
